Well...The way I see it, with a name like Dancing Tomato Caffé it's not only going to be good, but a town favorite as well. And, I hate to say it, but I was wrong, it wasn't good... It was Spectacular! The food was Amazingly Delicious! The service was exceptional at every point of our visit. So, if you're looking for a place to call ..home away from home, and have a home cooked meal like your at Grandma's house on Thanksgiving, with a menu so vast that everyone will be pleased, then you've found it. Traditional American breakfast and menu. They feature generous portions and some really unique specialties. The service is first class! I really enjoy the whole experience, But it can get busy if you go late in the morning. They make a three item omelette that is really excellent. My favorite.
Visited March 21st..see receipt. Drove into Yuba City from Grass Valley today...missed breakfast by 5 minutes! I am glad we stopped here! There is so many options..daily specials..dinner specials..senior menu..happy hour specials. It's large inside and also has a separate bar area. Full bar. I had the cod and fries and my friend had the hamburger and clam chowder. The cod was crunchy and the seasoned fries were nicely seasoned and crunchy as well. The burger was a basic burger with no frills . Alittle dry but still good. Clam chowder was chunky and really good. They also have specialty coffee drinks and I had a cappuccino to go. I also ordered the cheesecake to go. We were both happy with the food and service. Although very busy they were adequately staffed and Sarah our server was great and polite! It is nicely decorated with booth seating in some spots. It has a colorful vibe to it! Next time I am in the area I am going to get one of their breakfast specials ( good until 11am). If you download the app you get 10 bucks off for signing up ( I didn't do that). Good for groups as well! Thumbs up!
The food was so yummy. I had the special it was chicken piccata and my guy had the raviolis. The food was so so yummy and we got to color on the table.
We tried the deep fried brussels sprouts (appetizer) and it was excellent! Chicken cordon bleu was great (huge portion). The fajita steak sandwich was great, but I think it would be better if the steak was run through a slicer, so it would be easier to bite through. Service was very fast and waitress was super friendly.
Our customers service here was top notch. The staff seemed to really enjoy working here and it showed in our service. Our waiters super helpful and gave great recommendations. Great portions sizes that fit the price of menu items. The garlic bread was phenomenal, the lasagna delectable, meatballs were huge and flavorful. Honestly there wasn't a pasta dish we had there that wasn't good and had a pleasantly surprised good clam chowder as well. Overall, a nice family eatery that will fill you up and with such wonderful customer service will have you coming back.
We ordered online, and Jessica was incredibly accommodating with my dad’s dietary restrictions. She went above and beyond to make sure our order met his needs and was so kind and helpful throughout the process. Her excellent customer service made a stressful situation much easier. Everything tastes like it’s made from scratch, good quality food a reasonable price. We usually have the same thing pizza & steak sandwiches, creamy Chicken soup is absolutely amazing. Today we decided to get the Polenta on the appetizer menu- Wow! Decent, creamy & rich taste, definitely worth ordering. Kaleigh was our waitress and made sure we had everything we needed & kept our soda refilled.
Food is always solid here. I love their pizzas with white sauce. Oddly the Mexican breakfasts are my favorite which is weird at an Italian place. I only don't care for the sausages because they contain fennel. Fun to draw on the tables with crayons while you wait. Many drink options feom coffee to alcohol. Staff is always fast and friendly. Can accommodate large groups.
We had a great lunch at The Dancing Tomato Caffé while passing through Yuba City. I ordered the chef salad, and it was fresh, generously sized, and loaded with chicken, ham, cheese, tomatoes, beets, pepperoncini, and beans. It was filling and had a nice variety of flavors and textures. My wife ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, and we also shared a combination pizza that was loaded with toppings and had a nicely baked crust. We finished with the Chocolate Lasagna and a slice of lemon meringue pie. The Chocolate Lasagna was rich without being overly sweet, and the lemon meringue pie was a perfect balance of tart and sweet. The restaurant was clean, comfortable, and had a relaxed family atmosphere. The service was friendly, the portions were generous, and the menu has something for just about everyone. We’d definitely stop here again the next time we’re in Yuba City.
